For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith. Through God’s word, water, bread and prayer we are nurtured in faith and sent out into the world.

No matter who you are we want you here. We want you to hear the Good News!

Here’s how it works:

There is no dress code.  Any given Sunday at  Trinity you will find people in Jeans and T-Shirt and people in suits.  All are welcome!

8:00 am Spoken Liturgy Worship Service with Holy Communion

This service follows a similar format to the 10 am service (see below), however does not include music.

8:45 a. m. Sunday School Education Hour

Children gather with Pastor Ruth in the Nave at 8:45 am to sing and have group opening time.  Afterwards children go with their teachers to the appropriate classroom in the education building.  Parents are invited to stay with their children or to join the adult class in the Fellowship Hall.

Adult Education takes place in the Fellowship Hall (in the basement below the sanctuary). A teacher or the pastor leads Bible Study and/or group discussion around Lutheran theology and often includes current events.

10:00 a.m. Liturgical Music Worship Service with Holy Communion

Wondering what to expect at worship? Our Worship Service uses various Lutheran Liturgies- an order of service that is used each week based on a combination of God’s word and music.  Everything is included in a church bulletin each week so that it is easy to follow along and participate. The liturgy grounds our worship in God’s word and includes many prayers.

We begin worship with a musical prelude, welcome and announcements, and a gathering hymn.  We then have a group confession and absolution.  We all confess together as we have all fallen short and then we are given absolution as God’s grace is for all.  In addition to the liturgy each week we hear lessons from the revised common lectionary, an Old Testament Reading, A Psalm, A New Testament Reading, and a Gospel Reading. This is followed by a sermon.  A hymn is sung in response to the Gospel and Sermon.  We then present an offering to God and hear some music.  We pray intercessory prayers for the church, world, and everyone in it, and everyone who has passed.

We prepare for the Lord’s Supper.  We believe it is Jesus who invites you to partake, therefore all persons who wish to receive the sacrament are welcome to Holy Communion at Trinity.  At Trinity we serve Holy Communion every Sunday.  We hear music while we commune and after everyone has been served and returned to their seat the Pastor leads us in another prayer and we sing a sending hymn.

The pastor dismisses us to do God’s work in the world and we exit during a musical postlude.  We strive to keep our worship services to no more than an hour in length.  Activity packs are provided for children; however, we greatly encourage that children be fully part of worship as soon as they are able.  Crying children, loud children, etc., are welcome and encouraged!
