November 22, 2020 – Christ the King

Pastor Doug Knupp is away this Sunday,  Pastor Ed Devore will be subbing at the in-person service.  Pastor Ed’s sermon will be added to this service after it is recorded at 10 am worship.
Welcome to Trinity’s online worship service!  The liturgy has been adapted for online use and some hymns have been eliminated to streamline the online service.  We are so glad you chose to join us for virtual worship, and we’d be very excited if you chose to join us in-person on Sunday’s at 10 am in the Nave.
If you are able please consider an offering for God’s work in the world: Tithely
My Jesus, my Savior,
Lord there is none like you.
All of my days I want to praise
the wonders of your mighty love.
My comfort, my shelter,
tower of refuge and strength;
let ev’ry breath, all that I am
never cease to worship you.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth; let us sing
power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
at the sound of your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands;
forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand.
Nothing compares to the promise I have in you.

Hymn of the Day: Christ Is the King! (ELW #662)
1 Christ is the king! O friends, rejoice;
brothers and sisters, with one voice
let the world know he is your choice.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

2 Oh, magnify the Lord,
and raise anthems of joy and holy praise
for Christ’s brave saints of ancient days.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

3 O Christian women, Christian men,
all the world over, seek again
the Way disciples followed then.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

4 Let Love’s all reconciling might
your scattered companies unite
in service to the God of light.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Prayers of Intercession:
Sending Hymn: Crown Him with Many Crowns (ELW #855)
1 Crown him with many crowns,
the Lamb upon his throne;
hark, how the heav’n-ly anthem drowns
all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing
of him who died for thee,
and hail him as thy matchless king
through all eternity.

3 Crown him the Lord of love–
behold his hands and side
rich wounds, yet visible above,
in beauty glorified.
No angels in the sky
can fully bear that sight,
but downward bend their burning eyes
at mysteries so bright.

5 Crown him the Lord of years,
the potentate of time,
creator of the rolling spheres,
in-ef-fab-ly sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For thou hast died for me;
thy praise and glory shall not fail
through-out eternity.
